Hand placed cowrie shells on Prada inspired frames. It is believed that cowrie shells were the first currency used by mankind. In ancient Africa they represented wealth and were traded for goods, and services. The Currency Catchers are accompanied by a handcrafted Kente cloth carrying case to be carried in style. Kente cloth is from the Ashanti Empire, what is known today as Ghana. According to Ashanti legend, two farmers came across a spider, named Ananse, spinning a web. Amazed by the web's beauty, the farmers returned to their homes eager to recreate the web.
